Best Flooring

To make sure you are getting the best flooring there are a few things you need to know. To start with you need to know what the durabilies are of the different types of flooring and know which ones will hold up to your life style.

CARPET
When it comes to carpet you are going to have to decide which one fits in your budget and then decide which one you like better. When it comes to stain resitant poly carpet is the most natural stain resistant carpet and is cheaper then a nylon base but not as soft.
Nylon base carpet is softer but more chemicals have to be added to make it stain resitant. The thicker the carpet is not always the better, and that goes for the pad as well. Make sure that when you are looking for a thick carpet that you are getting a dence carpet or else your carpet will not last more than a couple of years. 25oz is a very low grade carpet, and around 50 oz is about the highest. There are some that go up to as high as 75oz but they are not as common and most of the time expensive.

HARDWOOD
Make sure that you know what you are getting into with hardwood. If you go with a prefinished hard wood then you can not refinish it but once or twice to get that new effect and it is costly, if you go with an unfinished hardwood you will have to life in a remodeling stage from 3 days to a week but in the long run it is the best option because you can redo it 5 to 10 times and get that new floor look for half the price. It will be create some dust in your house regardless what anybody tells you. There are also different grades of wood and if you are getting anything other than "select, #1 or #2" then your wood will not be a great wood and you will not have a smooth look all the way through your house. These standards play a part in finished and prefinished wood so keep you eye our. The best hardwood is select hard wood but #1 are not far behind.
LAMINATE
Laminate is a great alternative for hardwood due to the durbility of it and the easy installation. It will withstand more wear and tear then hardwood and is also cheaper. It can go over wood or concreat and holds up far longer in time. It can not be refinished however and or redone and is hard to match boards. Make sure that when you purchase laminate you get a good underlayment pad, that is the trick to laminate.
